Bikram's Beginning Yoga Classes: We hold our classes in a heated room to warm your muscles, prevent injury, allow for a deeper work out and to cleanse the body by flushing toxins. As Bikram says, "Yoga is the only exercise in the world that you can do at any age. There is always some posture that will improve your health, mind and soul. Yoga combines the skills of concentration, patience and self control which leads to increased mental clarity and reduced stress.
Bikram's Beginning Yoga Class: A demanding series of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises that are suitable for all ages and levels of ability. Each posture stretches and strengthens specific muscles, ligaments and joints needed for the next posture. Bikram disigned this 90 minute program to deliver total health through the balancing and strengthening of every system in the body in order to prevent illness, injury and to limit the effects of aging.
About Bikram Choudhury: Bikram Choudhury began learning Hatha Yoga poses from his guru Bishnu Ghosh (Paramansa Yogananda's brother) at the age of five. At eleven he was the youngest contestant to ever win the National India Yoga Competition. At age twenty a weightlifting accident crippled Bikram. With the guidance of his guru, Bikram created his 26 posture series which restored his health. Combining Eastern discipline and Western medicine, Bikram perfected his comprehensive system suitable for all ages and levels of health.
